وإذا غشيهم موج كالظلل دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين فلما نجاهم إلى البر فمنهم مقتصد ۚ وما يجحد بآياتنا إلا كل ختار كفور
" Therefore, as soon as they land on the shore, they start giving thanks to these false gods and presenting offerings at their shrines

Khattar means one who betrays or stabs in the back They do not bother to think that when they had lost hope, there was none beside Allah, the One, whom they might have implored and invoked for help
But when He brings them safe to land, there are among them those that stop in between
